I think this has been good for Canadian TV. I have stated to watch a couple of new TV shows and I am really enjoying them. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have given them a shot if all the big American shows were still on the air.  Now that I am “into”these shows I’ll continue to record them on t

I’ve been a big fan of “The Border“. This is a great show and in my humble opinion it does not have any of the cheese factor that I have come to expect from Canadian TV. I can tell you one thing for sure……. historically one would assume that this would be a “period piece” about the frontier border patrol on the Prairies….. if this were the case there is about a 100% chance that I wouldn’t be watching it.

I’ve also been watching “jPod“. I think this is a decent show and will continue to watch it.

I think it really makes a difference that these shows are shot in HD. I’m not usually a Audio/Visual guy…. but HD makes everything better.

Blah… Monday

Today feels like a Monday that is going to last all week. Its not a good sign when you are watching Mike Weir win a PGA Tour event on Sunday while thinking to yourself….. Why can’t it be Friday? I feel that I need a vacation. It seems that the last 10 days were Monday. I don’t like Mondays. Tell me why?

Lets do a quick weekend recap…….

• Raps pre-season game on Friday. Good times. I do enjoy watching the Raptors…. at least when the win.
• Chilled on the couch after the game…. spilled a lot of beer on the couch.
• Biggest event of Saturday. Dave completed his first marathon! You are the man. Dave is the person who inspired me to start running…. now he has inspired me to train harder and run further.
• Agro’s clinched a home playoff game by beating Montreal on their home turf on Saturday.
• Dragged my sorry ass out for a 10K run Saturday afternoon. Temperature was great… but it was windy… not cool.
• Late Saturday afternoon dropped by Greg & Kim’s end of summer BBQ… .met their new baby. Nice one.
• Pints at a pub for a friend’s birthday on Saturday Night.
• Leafs sucked again on Saturday night.
• Sunday….. relaxed on the couch for a while.
• Set up and held the ladder for Amy as she completed a scary mission to cut off the piece of aluminum siding that dislodged itself from our house during a huge wind storm…. it was scary… she was up really high and had to reach and prop herself against the neighbours house. Our ladder was not quite long enough.
• Sunday afternoon gave Amy a tiny bit of help with the gardening… mostly moral support from the couch. I did drive to pick up the cedar chips… then loaded into the car and unloaded.
• Watched Weir win the golf tournament.
• Dinner with the in-laws.
• Watched a little TV then went to bed early so I could get up to go running this morning.

Golfed

Back from my 2 day golfing event.

Played great on Tuesday… I played about as good as I could.  We were 75 gross…. 60 net.  Finished just out of the money.  Played 6 holes of Best Ball, 6 Holes of Modified Alternae Shot, 6 Holes of scramble.

Wednesday I totally sucked.  Shot gun start… started on a par 3.  Didn’t get my tee shot past the forward tees.  It didn’t get much better from there.  Same format as Tuesday but we played 9 holes of each format.  Get this…. Scramble was our highest score.. WTF?  How does that happen?

This is an evil game… how can I be so good on one day…. then literally 16 hours later I suck.  No good… no good at all.

Best line of the day was after the event.  Standing around having a few cocktails and one dude comes up to the group and is complaining about the greens (which were superb).  He claimed they were better than Tuesday but were still inconsistent.

My father-in-law says to the guy….. “Where do you play?  Indoors?”

Cracked me up.
